This guide explains how to find Beats headphones using the fastest working methods available. Start by checking whether your model supports Apple Find My and whether the headphones were recently powered on. The steps cover locating nearby Beats, viewing the last known location, understanding offline status, and knowing the limits on Android devices. You’ll also see when Bluetooth scanning can help and why serial numbers do not track lost headphones. Most steps take under five minutes, and you’ll know when recovery is no longer realistic.
Quick Answer:
You can find lost Beats headphones using Apple Find My only if the model supports it and the headphones were powered on or recently linked to your Apple ID. Open Find My to view the last known location or play a sound when they’re nearby. If the headphones are dead, reset, or were never linked, tracking will not work.

Beats models that support Apple Find My
To show up in Find My, your Beats must be compatible and must have been paired to an iPhone or iPad signed in to your Apple Account before they were lost. Find My then shows the last connected location (and can help you locate them if they’re nearby).
Find My is compatible with these Beats models:
- Powerbeats Fit
- Powerbeats Pro
- Powerbeats Pro 2
- Beats Fit Pro
- Beats Flex
- Beats Pill
- Beats Solo 4
- Beats Solo Buds
- Beats Studio Buds
- Beats Studio Buds +
- Beats Studio Pro
Fast check: Open Find My → Devices. If your Beats appear there, they’re supported and linked to your Apple Account. If they don’t, Find My tracking is not available for your pair.

If Your Beats Are Nearby
Find My works only if your Beats were paired to your Apple Account before they were lost and they are powered on and within Bluetooth range.
Use Find My sound playback
- Open Find My on the iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple Account.
- Tap Devices → select your Beats.
- Tap Play Sound.
- Walk slowly and listen. Check pockets, bags, cushions, bed sheets, and car seats.
If Play Sound is missing/greyed out or you hear nothing after 2 minutes, go to Bluetooth scanning.
Use Bluetooth scanner apps (close-range only)
Bluetooth scanners are close-range only. Use signal trend as your guide: signal rising means you’re closer, signal falling means you’re farther.
- Open a Bluetooth scanner app and scan in the last-known area.
- Tap the device that matches your Beats name. If no name appears, test unknown devices by walking a few steps. If your Beats still don’t show up, make sure they’re in discoverable pairing mode, see the pairing mode for Beats Studio Pro if that’s your model.
- Sweep fast: walk a slow grid, then pause at doorways and corners to compare signal.
No signal increase after 5 minutes usually means the Beats aren’t nearby or aren’t powered on. When you’re sure they’re close (same room or car), reset your Beats and run one more scan. No change after that means it’s time to move to If Your Beats Are Not Nearby.
If Your Beats Are Not Nearby
if you can’t hear a sound and Bluetooth scanning finds nothing, use Find My to check the last known location.
Use Find My map and “Last Seen” location
- Open Find My.
- Tap Devices → select your Beats.
- Read the status: Current, Last Seen, or Offline.
- Tap Directions and go to the pinned area.
If the Last Seen time does not update while you move, tracking is no longer active.
What offline status means and how long locations remain visible
Offline means your Beats are not connecting to the Find My network. This usually happens when the battery is dead, the headphones are powered off, or they’re out of range. Check if the battery is completely drained before assuming tracking is no longer possible.
Last Seen may remain visible for days, but it only updates when the Beats reconnect. If the timestamp never changes, wait for reconnection or move to the replacement section.
How Do I Find Beats Headphones Using Apple Find My (iPhone & iPad)
These steps work only if your Beats support Apple Find My and were powered on recently.
- Open the Find My app on your iPhone or iPad
- Tap Devices
- Select your Beats headphones from the list
- View the last known location or tap Play Sound if nearby
- Confirm the status shows Nearby or a recent location
If the status shows Offline or the Beats never appear, Find My tracking will not work.
How Do I Find Beats Headphones on iCloud (Using a Browser)
These steps work only if your Beats previously appeared in Find My under the same Apple ID.
- Go to iCloud.com in a web browser
- Sign in with the Apple ID used with your Beats
- Open Find My and select Devices
- Choose your Beats headphones from the device list
- Confirm a recent location is shown or use Play Sound if the Beats are nearby
If the Beats show Offline or never appear in the device list, iCloud tracking will not work.
Can I Find Lost Beats Headphones on Android
Android can only detect Beats over Bluetooth when they are powered on and nearby. Android cannot show a last known location or track Beats once they are out of range.
- Turn on Bluetooth on your Android device
- Open Bluetooth settings
- Look for your Beats headphones in the available devices list
- Move around to improve signal strength
- Reconnect when the Beats appear in the Bluetooth device list
If the Beats never appear, are powered off, or are out of range, Android cannot locate them.
Can You Find Beats Headphones If They’re Dead, Offline, or Reset?
You cannot find Beats headphones if they’re dead, offline, or factory-reset. Find My only works when the headphones were powered on recently and reported a location while linked to your Apple ID. Once the battery dies, the headphones go offline, or they’re reset, location tracking stops and will not update again.
Using the Beats Serial Number After They’re Lost
You cannot use a Beats serial number to find lost headphones. Serial numbers do not provide location tracking and cannot be used in Apple Find My or Bluetooth searches. They are only useful for warranty checks, support verification, or reporting the loss to Apple or a retailer, not for locating the headphones.
Will Apple or Beats Replace Lost Headphones?
Apple and Beats do not replace lost or stolen Beats headphones. Standard warranty and AppleCare cover manufacturing defects only, not loss or theft. Find My tracking does not qualify a device for replacement. If the headphones cannot be recovered, the only option is to purchase a replacement.
Note: Apple may offer paid out-of-warranty replacement pricing for some models, but this is not a loss or theft replacement.
